Because membership fits with the reality of how people create positive life changes. Simply engaging good information doesn’t produce growth – that’s just mental and emotional stimulation. But beyond that:
So… inside membership you get the information you need to make just about any change you want to make. But you also get to interact with us directly and the chance to form Member connections that encourage, support, motivate and challenge you.
Bottom line, we’re committed to making sure our Members have everything they need to get what they want out of themselves and out of life… to grow.
GRO’s membership is comprehensive, our coaching is specific.
Think of our membership as joining a gym for your life… a place where you can improve your overall well-being.
Coaching is about specific help with a specific need, desire, or concern. And sometimes that’s exactly what’s called for – targeted action.
Membership is intended to be a component of your lifestyle (who joins a gym for a week?), while our coaching is issue focused… for the times we’re stuck or need clarification with a challenge or decision.
At GRO we offer you both – membership for ongoing life and relationship enrichment… and coaching by our board-certified life coaches when you need that.
Not at all. We use these terms because of our philosophy and approach. Since the material is delivered incrementally, it just seems natural to refer to each unit as a lesson. Lessons are a breakdown of a course, which is why we use that term.
Remember, GRO is here solely for your overall development – personal, relational, and professional. We want the experience to be fun and practical.
There is no pressure on you whatsoever to perform or measure up to something. We are not a school.
By no means. We’ve put a lot of time and effort into designing a system that is user-friendly and straightforward. Everything you need to know is spelled out inside the membership area for you. But if you get stuck, all you need do is let us know. We’re here to help you at any time.
First, let us say that all our courses are written by us, so they are completely proprietary – certified organic, as we like to say!
Our current courses – and those in process – address the most common challenges we have seen in our 29-year practice. Many of our future courses will come as a direct response to member requests (priority goes to the most requested topics).
So, our library of courses will continually grow over time!
The Community is the backbone of the GRO model. The book of Proverbs says “Iron sharpens iron and one friend sharpens another.” By our interaction, we encourage, stimulate, build up and support one another.
At GRO we’re adamant that info alone is not enough. It is just a seed. Participating in a community of like-minded achievers is one of those vital “elements” essential for the seed of information to germinate and grow into something dynamic inside us.
Here’s how it works – discussion arises around the lessons. You can ask questions, clarify a point for another member, decide to partner up with a person or two to better grasp an idea or apply a concept… that sort of thing. Ultimately, we intend to have a dedicated group within the Community for each course available.
As soon as you become a Member, you get instructions for creating your Community profile. You can make it as robust – or as low key – as you wish. (It works similar to FaceBook, though it is NOT FaceBook.) This is a private community, only accessible by Members who are logged in. And of course, participation is entirely voluntary… you don’t even have to create a profile if you don’t want to.
Absolutely not. (Although growth does.) While we believe the best path to change is consistently applying certain practices over time, you control your membership and can cancel at any time.
Stimulating… yes, hard… no. We are teachers at heart, which means we believe it is our job to deliver the content in an easy-to-understand way. If you find any part of a lesson unclear, you can ask for help inside the Community. In addition to member-to-member support, you can message Dr Mike or Susan there as well. We’re always more than happy to clarify anything for you.
By no means. However, we believe our Community is one of the most beneficial elements of membership. It allows Members to connect organically in ways that really facilitate and accelerate their growth. The benefits gained from the positive synergy growing out of members helping members cannot be underestimated.
But again, participation in the Community is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to even create a profile, let alone join in, if you prefer not to.
If you wish to cancel, we will be sorry to see you go. But we will never impede your choice to cancel. All you need do is email us at [email protected] and we will process your cancellation request within hours if not minutes. You will have access to everything inside your dashboard for the remainder of that 30-day period, but there will be no future charges.
You don’t have to speak to anyone and there will be no pressure from us to get you to change your mind. We don’t want to see you go… but cancellation is your right.
Real growth results not from just consuming information but from the combination of information and a quality learning environment. Such an environment includes support and guidance, challenge and encouragement, peer interaction, and time.
For this reason we believe you see the best results by working through one course at a time. However, should you choose to do so, you can take two courses at once. The cap is set at two at the same time.
Absolutely. You can revisit any lesson of any course you have completed anytime you wish, for as long as you are a member.
All courses are broken down into lessons which are downloadable on a per-lesson basis from your Member dashboard. The next lesson opens up once you’ve completed your current lesson. All courses are in pdf format.
(Other material, such as GROth Spurts and Open Sessions are audios – mp3 format.)
Courses vary in length and therefore so does the number of lessons in a course. At present, the shortest course is 3 lessons and the longest is 21.
A short lesson will take about 5 minutes to finish while a longer one might take up to 30 minutes maximum.
You have as long as you want to move from lesson to lesson. Your pacing through any given course is entirely up to you. Remember… GRO is a No Pressure zone!
We are continually creating new courses – either in response to Member requests or on topics we believe will be most beneficial to our Members.
So the total number of courses will just keep growing over time!
